FIRST DAY OF CLASS.
This is the day that we get to know one another and get an
overview of the course objectives and find out what the students
expect from this course. We will learn how to install the exercise
files and start with Lesson 1, getting around in
QuickBooks; a discussion about accounting basics; and how to
exit QuickBooks and make a backup file.

A quick review of lesson 1
and on to Lesson 2 where we will use the EasyStep
feature to set up a new company's financial records; set up sales
tax information, choose an invoice format; choose a start date; set
up income and expense accounts; enter opening balances and learn how
to use the Get Help features.

In Lesson 3 we will
learn how to use and manage QuickBooks lists; edit the chart
of accounts; work with customers, employees and vendors, record
customer invoices and submit payments to vendors. In Lesson 4
we will write checks, use bank registers, transfer money and
reconcile checking accounts.

In Lesson 5 we will

accounts, and discuss equity accounts. Dealing with customers is
featured in Lesson 6 along with preparing invoices and

payments from customers and make bank deposits.

how to enter and pay bills from vendors. In Lesson 9 we will
analyze the financial data and create some reports and graphs.

sold, and currently on hand. Lesson 11 will track and pay
sales taxes and discuss payroll features and many of the details
necessary to properly account for employee's and non-employee's
compensation and tax obligations. More payroll information in

time tracking. In Lesson 15 (the last lesson) we will
customize forms and invoices and use QuickBooks with
Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to prepare report analyses and
written letters and reports.

OUR LAST CLASS. A
catch-up and review session with student questions, comments and
observations. You will be asked to complete a course
